A Review of Faux Fur Coats

!±8± A Review of Faux Fur Coats

Many people are of the opinion that faux fur coats are rather gaudy, but personally I happen to think that if done properly they can look fantastic. The great thing about a faux fur coat is that you can get it in any style of animal that you want. You couldn't get a real tiger coat, but a tiger faux fur coat? I own several of these exotic coats and I love them. The field the soft ground for is really unparalleled and the imitation of the animals coloring and patterns makes a quality faux fur coat the fun thing to wear.

Of course a lot of my friends have a good chuckle over my choices of faux fur coats. "You are a successful business woman," they say, "what are you wearing and not God when he could actually be wearing the real thing?" "No chance," I reply, and I proceed to tell them about why I have a love affair with my faux fur coat. What is tacky isn't wearing a faux fur coat, it is, in my estimation, sporting something barbaric, cruel, and absurdly expensive on my back when the imitations are so clever as to be almost as good as the original.

Not to mention are just as warm and comfortable as the real thing. A fur coat only tells someone that you are rich, something which I don't particularly care to broadcast to the world. I'm not quite that insecure. A faux fur coat tells people that you are a creature of unique and individual tastes who refuses to follow convention. That's what I would like the world to know about me

I have been queried, because I like faux fur coats so much, if there are any other synthetic material is a prefer used over their natural counterparts. While I do confess a certain fondness for pleather, in that case it is usually far superior in my estimation to deal with the authentic article. For starters, I don't feel anywhere near as guilty buying leather as I would if I bought fur.

While only one cow was slaughtered to make my leather jacket, dozens of poor adorable little rabbits would have to give their lives to make one actual rabbit fur coat. I don't know that is fair or even make sense, but either way that's how I feel. I guess it's probably not so fair for the cow.

Besides that, leather is much softer and suppler than pleather. Although a faux fur coat is often as smooth and pleasant as real fur without the possibility of allergens, between pleather and good leather, there is scarcely more than a similarity. Others actually pretty basic that you prefer it to be either black or brown. It comes from a single animal, and in only a select few colors, so there is no sense in getting pleather in something along the lines of a zebra pattern. Now that's tacky.

Leather Jumpsuits for Rock-N-Roll

!±8± Leather Jumpsuits for Rock-N-Roll

Remember the famous '68 Comeback' of the king of rock-n-roll 'Elvis Presley' wearing a black leather suit. It is recorded as the most famous television shows ever and is regarded as the comeback of Elvis Presley wearing that black leather jumpsuit and playing classics like Jailhouse Rock, Heartbreak Hotel, One Night, Don't Be Cruel, Are You Lonesome Tonight? And many many more such classics.

During the initial launch of the jumpsuits they were just simple in their presentation:
• They had metal buttons.
• Some had long fringe.
• Some of them had knotted leather belts which used to dangle to the side.
• The jumpsuits in cloth had ornamentation to match the suit.

By the end of 69 and early 70s, the jumpsuits had actually evolved.
• with more defined metal and rhinestone studding,
• matching capes and coordinating big-buckle leather belts

From 74 onwards, the jumpsuit got flashier and more sophisticated, representing animals and birds like Eagles, Tiger, Dragon, Phoenix and Zebra but by that time capes had phased out.

It reminds me of the famous white Aloha Jumpsuit worn by Elvis which was designed by Bell Belew and American designer. The suit had calf length capes and an eagle was depicted in gems of gold, blue and red color to signify America.

The famous jumpsuits which were being brought in fashion from 65s and which defined fashion till 80s are now back again in style with the most famous fabric ever to be discovered i.e. Leather. Stylish and elegant and at the same time they are fun and playful. A well-chosen leather jumpsuit can definitely become a fashion statement as long as it complements your body shape.

The newly launched styles include:
• Capri Leather jumpsuit
• Casual Leather jumpsuit
• Stylish PVC Leather for both men and women I full and half length
• Zippered Jumpsuits and
• Fashionable Wide Strapped are a few to mention

The year 2010 has seen the rebirth of jumpsuits and people in the fashion world are appreciating it as smart and viable option. The leather jumpsuits will suit you style and are also comfortable and convenient when worn during summer months. People are now comfortable with the idea of wearing jumpsuits and the fact that the celebrities and models have also have promoted various designer jumpsuits and now the designers have come out with various designs to suit various personalities.

Along with Leather, Denim jumpsuits have also been launched by designers. You can wear them at anytime of the day like during lunch and even at night when you want to go out for that long drive. The main driving factor of the jumpsuits is that they are comfortable and you do not have to think about coordination as they are in single piece, only accessories like shoes, bags and jewelry needs to be considered.

Sensuality oozed out by Leather garments is phenomenal. With appropriate accessories they give an elegant look. If you want to break that contemporary image and style is on your mind then the wide Leg Jumpsuits with straps that are adjustable is a good option. These kind of jumpsuits also have flap and slash pockets.

So this summer get ready to rock n roll like the King of Rock n Roll the very famous and most loved artist the 'Elvis Presley' get that rock n' rolla image with the new leather jumpsuits.

A Rise in Popularity - The Sweater Vest

!±8± A Rise in Popularity - The Sweater Vest

It is not widely known in the US, but in the UK, sweater vests are not called sweater vests at all. Since they have a nerdy, English look, we think that they must have the same name. In fact, in England, they are just called tank tops or pullovers. It was not until the 1970s that they became popular in both the US and the UK.

They quickly dropped out of fashion and have been worn mostly by nerdy types. They keep the body warm, and are practical, so they got sort of a bad reputation. Now, they are finally becoming popular again, but they are very different from their original state. Celebrity golfer Tiger Woods has helped a lot in the popularization of sweater type vests. They have broadened much beyond golfers though, and now they are a mainstream wardrobe piece for many.

In the past, sweater type vests were used for fairly formal occasions, and were always suitable for a workplace environment. Because they are so warm, they are good for sports fans who are sitting in the cold for hours, watching the game. Sports marketers have even been marketing these vests with logos of favorite teams for this very purpose.

Sweater type vests are also being popularized by movie stars wearing them. If a movie star wears an item of clothing, it demands attention. Even fashion faux pas, like sweater vests originally were, made huge waves in the fashion industry if worn by the right person. In essence, this is the story of the rise of the sweater type vest in modern fashion. Now, the designs range from basic and everyday to wild and maybe out of touch. Still, the sweater vest continues to grow rapidly in popularity.

Of course, some designers are replicating the older versions of argyle and diamond patterned sweater type vests from the 1970s. Many more are making them into something new. Instead of the old pullover vests, many modern vests are zippered or buttoned. They are also playing with the fabric choices, broadening the simple vest beyond just the sweater, but to furs and fleeces. These make a real statement about the wearers wardrobe.

Even though the sweater vest is now growing in popularity, many still skeptical of the sweater vest. They still see it as nerdy. People need to break free of these old stereotypes. These vests may be their thing and they are missing out.
